Asia Cup 2023: Nepal Will Join India And Pakistan In Group A After Qualifying For The First Time. Nepal’s national cricket team has qualified for the Asia Cup 2023. They won their spot in the Asia Cup 2023 by defeating UAE by seven wickets in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup final on reserve day. Gulshan Kumar Jha’s steady 67 led Nepal to a seven-wicket victory, ensuring the country’s qualifying for the Asia Cup 2023.

Nepal will make its debut at the Asia Cup 2023. It will begin on September 2, 2023, and conclude on September 17, 2023. A total of 13 matches will be played in Asia Cup 2023 , including six league games, six Super 4 games, and a final. India, Pakistan, and Nepal will join them in Group A, while the defending champions, Sri Lanka, will be in Group B with Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Nepal will now compete in Group A of the Asia Cup 2023, which will be held in September, with India and Pakistan. Although there were few rumors regarding the Asia Cup being cancelled, but no official announcement has been issued.

The game between Nepal and UAE on Monday was called off due to heavy rain. UAE was reduced to 106 for the loss of nine wickets in 27.3 overs. On reserve day (Tuesday), play continued from the same point. UAE team all out in 33.1 overs for 117 runs.

The decision to move Gulshan Jha up to No. 3 in the batting order by captain and coach was masterstroke. The 17-year-old scored 67* out of a possible 118 points. The UAE made things difficult for Nepal with their strong spin bowling. Despite the slow conditions and the possibility of rain in the city’s capital, the hosts chased down a target of 30.3 overs.

Nepal has joined India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong as the eighth country to compete in the Asia Cup. Furthermore, because Nepal, the UAE, and Oman finished in the top three at the Premier Cup. Both teams will compete in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in July. Council Put End To The Rumours About Cancellation Of Asia Cup

An Asian Cricket Council (ACC) board member has denied rumours that the Asia Cup will be postponed or cancelled. According to a rumour in Pakistani media, The Asia Cup might be relocated if PCB refuses to agree to play matches at a neutral site. However, On May 1, ACC officials stated that no such proposal had been forwarded to the member countries.

A member of the ACC Board who was privy to discussions taking place outside of an ICC meeting in Dubai told PTI. He went on to say that if something like this happened, PCB would be the first to know because they are the host. Also, there has been no official word from Jay Shah, President of ACC. We should consider the news of cancellation to be a rumour.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) holds the hosting rights for the ODI-format Asia Cup in 2023. BCCI secretary Jay Shah, has made it clear that the Indian cricket team would not visit Pakistan.
