At least the first six qualifying matches of the seventh T20 World Cup will be played in Oman, while the remaining six matches will be held at the Oval Stadium in Dubai. However, the Oman Cricket Association wants all 12 qualifying matches to be organized here.
Apart from the six qualifying matches, whether Oman should be allowed to host the remaining six is yet to be decided.
The main round matches will be played at three UAE stadiums, Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
This World Cup may not be happening in India but it is hosted by the BCCI. Therefore, all the issues related to this will be discussed between BCCI and ICC only. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Vice President Rajeev Shukla, and BCCI Secretary are on a tour of Dubai and Oman to finalize the preparations for the World Cup.
T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in two phases. The first round will be qualifying, with a total of 12 matches. The ICC had announced the groups a few days back. Afghanistan and New Zealand have been placed in Group 2 along with India and Pakistan. West Indies, South Africa, Australia, and England have been placed in Group 2.
