ODI World Cup 2023: Team Afghanistan Schedule and Squad: With the ICC 50-over World Cup just around the doorstep, Afghanistan will be one of the tournament’s more interesting sides. Afghanistan will compete in their third consecutive ICC One-Day International World Cup.
They qualified as a top eight side for the quadrennial tournament, which will be held in India from 5 October to 19 November 2023, through the ICC ODI Super League, a four-year competition amongst the 10 participating nations.
Afghanistan cricket team created history in their first-ever appearance at the ODI World Cup, which was held in Australia and New Zealand in 2015, by defeating Scotland in their first-ever match after qualifying through the World Cricket League Championship.
Since 2019, Afghanistan has played some of its finest ODI cricket, defeating countries such as Ireland, the Netherlands, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka, a number of which will compete in the next World Cup.
The Afghans have also developed as a squad that frequently plays courageous cricket, which has helped them get to the top-eight in the world. With favourable conditions, Afghanistan might emerge as a strong opponent and perhaps pull off some major upsets.

Afghanistan will start their World Cup 2023 journey by playing against Bangladesh at Dharamshala on 7th October 2023 and the last league match of this team is against South Africa at Ahmadabad on 10th November 2023.
