ICC WTC Points Table 2023-25: India Jumps To Top After Australia Beat New Zealand In First Test. The Indian cricket team secured the leading position in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 points table, on Sunday (March 3). India’s climb to the top was made possible by Australia’s win over New Zealand in the first Test of their two-match series. Australia’s impressive victory, with a 172-run lead, in the NZ vs AUS Test series opener contributed to India claiming the No. 1 spot in the ICC WTC points table, holding a percentage of 64.58%.

In the first innings, Australia, with Cameron Green’s outstanding unbeaten score of 174 runs, scored a total of 383 runs. Meanwhile, Matt Henry from New Zealand took 5 wickets. However, New Zealand had a tough time in their response, only managing to score 179 runs, with Phillips being the top scorer at 71 runs. Nathan Lyon from Australia took 4 wickets for 43 runs.

In the second innings, Australia scored 164 runs, with Nathan Lyon contributing 41 runs. Todd Phillips from New Zealand took 5 wickets for 45 runs. However, chasing a target of 369 runs on the fourth day, New Zealand managed to post 196 runs, with Rachin Ravindra scoring 59 runs. Here’s How India Can Stay At The Top Of The WTC Points Table 2023-25:

If India wins the fifth and final Test of the IND vs ENG series, starting from March 7 in Dharamshala, they will maintain their top position in the ICC WTC Points Table. However, if the 5th Test ends in a draw or if England wins, both Australia and New Zealand could potentially surpass India as the leaders in the WTC 2023-25 points table. Additionally, the NZ vs AUS 2nd Test is scheduled to start on Friday, March 8, in Christchurch.
