England To Host ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025 And 2027 Final: Report. In June 2027, England is set to host the World Test Championship (WTC) final for the fourth consecutive time. The series of hosting began with the 2021 final at Southampton, followed by the 2023 final at The Oval, and the upcoming 2025 final at Lord’s. The International Cricket Council (ICC) recently issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Social Responsibility Provider for the period 2024-2027, outlining the countries and the timing of ICC events.

Following India’s second successive loss in the WTC final to Australia by 209 runs, Captain Rohit Sharma advocated for future finals to be played outside England and not limited to a June schedule. He suggested flexibility in timing, stating that the final could be held in any month and in any part of the world, not necessarily confined to England.

India’s challenge in acclimatizing last year was highlighted, arriving directly from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The ICC faces challenges in scheduling the summit clash outside June due to the presence of T20 leagues in various cricketing countries throughout the year.

On a positive note for women’s cricket enthusiasts, the ICC announced the introduction of the Women’s T20 Champions Trophy. The inaugural edition is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka in February 2027. In the men’s category, the Champions Trophy will be in the ODI format, hosted by Pakistan in February 2025.

In another development, Malaysia, as an associate nation, will host the second edition of the women’s Under-19 World Cup in January 2025. India is set to host the Women’s World Cup in October/November 2025 and, along with Sri Lanka, will co-host the men’s T20 World Cup in October/November 2026.
