Asia Cup 2023: Who Will Face India In Final, Sri Lanka Or Pakistan?- Qualification Scenarios Explained. India kept their nerve against Sri Lanka in their Asia Cup 2023 Super Fours match on Tuesday, September 12 in Colombo to qualify for the tournament’s final. India advanced to their tenth Asia Cup final after defeating Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Fours phases.

With this dramatic victory, India not only qualified for the finals, but they also ended Sri Lanka’s 13-match winning streak in ODIs. Prior to this match, Sri Lanka had won all of their ODIs in 2023. With India in the final and Bangladesh out, either Pakistan or Sri Lanka can secure the last-second berth for the final game. On September 14, Sri Lanka will face Pakistan’s Babar Azam in the Asia Cup’s last Super 4 match. This will be a make-or-break encounter for both since they each have two points from one win. Who Will Face India In Asia Cup 2023 Final?

Sri Lanka is ranked second in the Super 4s standings. Despite losing by 41 runs against India, they had a higher net run rate than Pakistan. Sri Lanka must defeat Pakistan to be assured of a spot in the final. If their match on Thursday is rained out without a result, they will advance based on a higher net run rate. Sri Lanka will be eliminated if they lose to Pakistan.

While Pakistan must defeat Sri Lanka in order to qualify. Due to their 228-run loss to India on Monday, they have a lower net run rate of -1.892. They really have the lowest NRR in the Super Fours stage. If their game on Thursday is rained out, they have no chance of making the final.

To date, Sri Lanka has won six Asia Cups, five of which have been in ODI format. Their most recent Asia Cup victory came in the T20 format. On the other side, Pakistan has only previously won the Asia Cup twice, in 2000 and 2012.
