Asia Cup 2023: India Qualifies For Final, Most Runs, Most Wickets, After Match Against Sri Lanka On 12 September: India seals its place in the Asia Cup 2023 final by defeating Sri Lanka by 41 runs in the fourth Super 4s match of the current intercontinental event. The match began at the RPS Stadium in Colombo. This rain-interrupted encounter was India’s closest match in this competition as well as a wake-up call for the 2018 World Cup in India.

After winning the toss, India elected to bat first. Despite a strong start, Indian batters let the country down with their terrible performance. Only India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, managed to score 50 or more runs; no other batsman scored more than 35 runs. The Indian middle order crumbled, and they were all out for 213 runs. Wellalage, the young Sri Lankan took five wickets.

In the second inning, India’s bowlers entered the field with the goal of defending this low score. Bumrah, along with Siraj and Jadeja, completely decimated Sri Lanka’s top order. However, Wellalage and De Silva formed a 66-run partnership. Wellalage put on a one-man show, first getting five wickets and then scoring 42 runs to bring the match close but could not win it for the team. Kuldeep Yadav once again proved himself to be India’s best bowler, taking four wickets and bowling Sri Lanka out for 172 runs.

Despite a poor batting effort, India won this match. All credit goes to the bowlers for successfully defending this goal. India’s next opponent will be Bangladesh. While Sri Lanka will face Pakistan in their next encounter, the victor will face India in the final on September 17.
