Suryakumar Yadav Shatters Tendulkar’s Record For Most Runs In An IPL Season For Mumbai Indians. Suryakumar Yadav has broken the long-standing record that had been respected for years by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar for the most runs scored in a single IPL season for MI. His knock of 57 runs against the Punjab Kings at Jaipur took his season aggregate to 640, surpassing Tendulkar’s 618 runs in IPL 2010.

This achievement speaks volumes about Surya’s incredible consistency and his ability to deliver when the pressure is too much. Across 14 innings in IPL 2025, he has scored 619 runs at a daunting average of 76.75 and a ferocious strike rate of 169.61. The tally includes four half-centuries, which means that he can either build the innings or alter the pace as per exigencies. Incidentally, this is the second time that Surya has crossed 600 runs in an IPL season.

At the crease, Suryakumar Yadav’s dominance has been the foundation of MI’s batting this season, and he offers an equal share of stability and firepower. His ability to find gaps in the field, work the field with placement, and great inventiveness with his inherent innovation have drawn parallels with those who have defined the IPL. With the playoffs commencing soon, MI will lean heavily on their star performer to continue with his golden form and take the team to yet another title.
