IND vs WI 2nd Test Day 2 Highlights: Jadeja Took Three Wickets Early, West Indies 140/4. On Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Team India asserted their dominance, declaring their innings at a mammoth 518/5 and reducing the visitors to 140/4 at the close of play. Ravindra Jadeja picked up three crucial wickets as Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with one, with India very much in control of the contest.

India began the day at 318/2, and their batters capitalised on perfect batting conditions. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the way again, converting his overnight score of 173* into a knock of 175 before being run out. Shubman Gill showed his class with an unbeaten score of 129 in what was his tenth Test century. Sai Sudharsan (87) and Nitish Reddy (43) backed their skipper well. Dhruv Jurel provided a good tempo down the order with 44 runs. Soon after the lunch interval, India went on to declare their innings with a total of 518-5.
West Indies’ Early Shake-Ups
In response, the West Indies’ top order failed to deal with India’s spin attack. At his peak, Ravindra Jadeja claimed the wickets of Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Alick Athanaze, and captain Roston Chase. These three wickets played a crucial role in breaking the visitors’ resistance. John Campbell was dismissed early following a mistimed shot off Kuldeep Yadav’s bowling. Although Kraigg Brathwaite put up some resistance with a solid knock, the West Indies ended the day at 140/4 and still trail by 378.

As the surface is now starting to offer enough turn and variable bounce, India’s spinners will look to take control on Day 3. The hosts will be looking for a quick wicket during the morning session, whereas the West Indies will be hoping to avoid a follow-on.
