IND vs ENG: Jasprit Bumrah to Miss 2nd Test, Arshdeep Singh Likely Replacement. Team India will be significantly hampered ahead of the second Test in Edgbaston. Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be rested due to ‘workload management.’ The leading fast bowler, who played in the opening match of the series in Leeds, will return to his baseline monitoring as made possible by the medical department. This allows the medical department to manage his overall workload. Bumrah is part of this test series, consisting of 5 Test matches.

Arshdeep Singh Set to Replace Jaspreet Bumrah

In the absence of Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh is likely to remain in the XI after Team India’s disappointing performance in Leeds. Bumrah was outstanding in the 1st Test match, taking 5 wickets in the 1st innings and testing the England batters with his swing and control.

Although India lost the 1st Test match by 5 wickets, Bumrah’s bowling was a major positive. He will be rested, and more than likely, India will give him a chance to continue that good form. Arshdeep will join Md Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in the pace attack at Edgbaston.

Bumrah Expected Back For 3rd Test

Bumrah, India’s spearhead pace bowler, is expected back for the 3rd Test at Lord’s, as captain Shubman Gill and the management will be reining Bumrah in early in the series to avoid a potential overload despite having a few important overseas and home assignments. The management is likely looking to adequately rotate its fast bowler forces as needed. India trails 0-1 in the series and will need to regroup quickly without their most experienced fast bowler.
