With this appointment, Bahutule will further strengthen the coaching group led by head coach Gautam Gambhir.

His most recent assignment was with Punjab Kings during IPL 2026. During that tournament, he worked as the franchise’s spin bowling coach for the full run, helping shape the spin unit in a way that felt pretty consistent across matches. Before Punjab Kings, Bahutule also worked with several domestic teams and different IPL franchises. He was regularly praised for his method, especially how he supported young cricketers as well as the more seasoned players who were already well settled in their roles.

Bahutule has built a strong coaching career after retiring from professional cricket. He has served as head coach of Vidarbha, Kerala, Gujarat, and Bengal. He was also part of India’s Under-19 World Cup-winning coaching staff in 2022. In addition, he worked with India A and the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.
