Cooper Connolly Saved the Game For Punjab Kings
Cooper Connolly was the hero for the Punjab Kings. He scored 72 runs from 44 balls. His innings included 5 sixes and 3 fours. He handled pressure calmly at the end. Prabhsimran Singh gave a quick start in the power play. Punjab scored around 50 runs in the early overs. However, they lost wickets in the middle phase. At one stage, PBKS were 118 for 6. The match looked like it was in Gujarat’s control. But Connolly and the lower order built a match-winning partnership.
For the Gujarat Titans, Prasidh Krishna was the best bowler. He took 3 wickets for 29 runs. Washington Sundar also picked up one wicket and bowled tight overs. Earlier, the Gujarat Titans scored 162 for 6 in 20 overs. Their run rate was around 8.10 per over. Shubman Gill scored 39 runs from 27 balls. Jos Buttler added 38 runs from 33 balls. Punjab bowlers controlled the middle overs well. Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 key wickets. Vijaykumar Vyshak also picked important wickets in the death overs. Gujarat lost wickets regularly and could not finish strongly. They scored only 12 runs in the last two overs. Punjab Kings showed great finishing skills under pressure. This win gives them strong momentum early in the season.
