It’s déjà vu, Wimbledon 2024 again…but to the 2025 Wimbledon clash of the tennis young champions, Carlos Alcaraz up against Jannik Sinner. 2024 Wimbledon defending champion Alcaraz has sealed a spot for his third successive final at Roland Garros.
Spaniard Carlos defeated fifth-seeded Taylor Fritz in the semi-final in five sets on July 11. And The Sinner crushed seven-time champion Novak Djokovic’s dreams, who was chasing a record-extending 25th major and a record eighth Wimbledon title. The Italian defeated Djokovic 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 in the semi-finals at the grass major.
After his defeat to Sinner, Djokovic highlighted his physical struggles. He told reporters in an after-match interview that he doesn’t want to talk about his injury and whine about not playing his best. Novak Djokovic congratulated his opponent for a great performance, acknowledging that he is a ‘strong player’. He added that he is disappointed in himself for lagging in his movements and not being on top of his game.
The 13x World No. 1 admitted that his age is catching up fast – wear and tear of the body. Djokovic said it’s tough for him to accept this because he feels he is still fresh and fit.

Wimbledon 2025 Final
The Wimbledon 2025 showdown is historic in its own right, with the final to be played by two young players who were born in the 2000s. Sinner, 23, is the 11th man to complete in all four Grand Slam events in the Open Era, and has won five consecutive matches against Djokovic.
So, who will take the Wimbledon 2025 title home? Carlos Alcaraz or Jannik Sinner? Multiple Grand Slam winner Alcaraz is the favourite as he leads Sinner 8-4 in the Lexus ATP Head2Head series. But the Australian Open 2025 champion won the previous grass-court encounter against Alcaraz, 22.
Alcaraz and Sinner’s rivalry is being compared to the G.O.A.T.s Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, but Nadal had more intense competition with Roger Federer. This trio is ATP’s legendary tennis players. Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer, together, won 66 Grand Slams. Djokovic, 38, holds the winning records against both Nadal and Federer, but falls behind in the best overall combined winning percentage.
