India U19 team suffered multiple setbacks in their record run-chase against Australia in the U19 World Cup 2024 final. Adarsh Singh (47), Musheer Khan (22), Arshin Kulkarni (3), captain Uday Saharan (8) M Abhishek (42), and last match’s star Sachin Dhas (9) failed to reach on target. The team was all out on 174 in 43.5 overs. Mahli Beardman & R Macmillan took 3 wickets each.
Team India reached the U19 World Cup 2024 final by beating South Africa in a thrilling match by 2 wickets. Australia, on the other hand, beat Pakistan in a cliffhanger to make the summit spot. India reached the summit clash for 5th consecutive time. This is the third time in U19 World Cup history that India and Australia are playing each other. India has a 2-0 winning record vs Aussies in the final.

In 2012, Unmukt Chand-led Indian team beat Australia in the final while in 2018, it was Prithvi Shaw and his team that emerged as winners.
To reach the final, India U19 beat Bangladesh, Ireland, USA, New Zealand, Nepal, and hosts South Africa while Australia, who are also unbeaten in the tournament, defeated Namibia, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, England, and Pakistan in U19 World Cup 2024 semi-final.
