Shreyas Iyer To Lead India A In Multi-Day Matches Against Australia A. BCCI has named the India A squad for the multi-day series against Australia A. India A will play two four-day matches beginning September 16, 2025. The first four-day match will be played at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, India, followed by three one-day matches in Kanpur. This tour should be beneficial for both teams. It will allow them to test their depth with several players.

Shreyas Iyer has been appointed captain of the side, with wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel as vice-captain. The squad is made up of experienced and younger players who have done well in domestic and franchise cricket.

Shreyas Iyer (C), Abhimanyu Easwaran, Narayan Jagadeesan (WK), Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (VC & WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Harsh Dubey, Ayush Badoni, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Tanush Kotian, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Khaleel Ahmed, Manav Suthar, and Yash Thakur.

Additionally, the BCCI confirmed that KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj would join the squad before the second four-day fixture beginning on September 23. It will be international experience and the balance to the side. There will be two players coming in for two players from the original squad after the first four-day match.

Series Schedule

The first of the two multi-day matches will be played from September 16-19 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. The second match will be played from September 23-26 at the same venue. After that, three one-day matches are set for Green Park, Kanpur, on September 30, October 3, and October 5.

The series is an important opportunity for India’s next generation of cricketers to assess themselves against a competitive Australia A side. Batters Easwaran and Sudharsan will be eager to convert their good domestic records into big innings. While bowlers Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, and Yash Thakur would want to make an impression with the red ball. The all-rounder options, with Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey, and Tanush Kotian, will offer flexibility in both departments.
