KL Rahul Likely to Return for T20I Series Against Bangladesh in August. The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul is reportedly just a step away from making a comeback into the national T20 setup for the upcoming series against Bangladesh in August 2025. If he secures a selection, it will solely stem from his outstanding performance in the ongoing IPL season.

Rahul has virtually not been considered for the shortest format for a good two and a half years. He last played for India in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final against England. Nevertheless, his glittering form with Delhi Capitals in the IPL has reignited talk about a place in the national side.

Rahul has presently piled up 493 runs this IPL season in 11 innings, at a staggering average of 61.63 with a strike rate of 148.04. His highest score came in the form of an unbeaten 112 off just 65 balls against Gujarat Titans, proving his ability to hold an innings and simultaneously keep the scoreboard ticking.

The Indian team will face Bangladesh from August 17 to 31, 2025, comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. This will also be the first-ever bilateral T20I series between India and Bangladesh held in Bangladesh. Versatility and form will be his key traits on which the team can bank to ensure a solid 11 for the forthcoming global events.

Although we are waiting for official word from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul is again back in form, and we see him as an excellent choice for the T20I side, not only to strengthen the batting position but also to provide experience to help a global assault.
