IPL 2026: Cooper Connolly’s Maiden Century Goes in Vain as SRH Beat PBKS By 33 Runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by 33 runs in IPL 2026 at Hyderabad. SRH posted 235/4 before restricting PBKS to 202/7. SRH batters dominated from the beginning on a batting-friendly surface. Travis Head provided a flying start with 38 runs from 19 balls. Abhishek Sharma also attacked during the powerplay overs.

Ishan Kishan continued the momentum with a superb half-century. The left-hander scored 55 runs from 32 deliveries. Heinrich Klaasen played the best innings for SRH. He smashed 69 runs off 43 balls with aggressive strokeplay. Nitish Kumar Reddy finished strongly in the death overs. He remained unbeaten on 29 runs from only 13 balls. SRH crossed 230 comfortably after another explosive batting performance.

The Punjab Kings bowlers struggled throughout the innings. Yuzvendra Chahal finished with figures of 1/32 in four overs. Lockie Ferguson picked up one wicket for 41 runs. Arshdeep Singh also claimed one wicket but conceded 43 runs. PBKS fielders dropped important catches during the match. Shashank Singh dropped Klaasen during a crucial phase. The missed chance proved costly for Punjab Kings later.

Cooper Connolly becomes the youngest oversees player to score a century in IPL

Punjab Kings started poorly while chasing the massive target. SRH bowlers removed key batters inside the powerplay overs. Pat Cummins led brilliantly with the ball and in the field. Cooper Connolly fought hard for Punjab Kings despite the pressure. The Australian batter remained unbeaten on 107 runs from 59 balls. Marcus Stoinis scored 28 runs from 14 deliveries. Suryansh Shedge contributed 25 runs from 17 balls.

With this victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad moved to the top of the IPL 2026 points table. Punjab Kings slipped to the second position after the defeat.
