IND vs WI: Jayden Seales Fined By ICC For Inappropriate Throw At Jaiswal. West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales has been penalised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for an incident with Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal during the first day of the second Test match between India and the West Indies in Delhi.
The incident occurred during India’s innings on Day 1, when Jayden threw the ball back at Jaiswal in an act of frustration immediately after fielding the ball from his own bowling. While there was no injury or harm involved, the ICC considered the act to be unsporting player conduct in accordance with Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which pertains to “throwing a ball at or near a player in an inappropriate manner.”
Seales defended his action because he was attempting to run Jaiswal out. However, the match referee called the throw “unnecessary and inappropriate,” resulting in a penalty of 25% of his match fee and 1 demerit point on his disciplinary record.
The young fast bowler accepted the penalty after a brief chat with the match officials. The incident was efficiently defused on the field as Jaiswal remained calm, while the umpires intervened to de-escalate.

This is a minor but significant disciplinary blow for Seales, who has been one of the exciting fast-bowling prospects for the West Indies in recent months. The ICC stated it remains committed to upholding good sportsmanship and respect between players, a reminder to teams to ensure that aggression remains within the spirit of the game.
