IND vs ENG 4th Test Day 3 Highlights: Root’s Ton, England in Full Control. On the 3rd day of the 4th Test at Old Trafford, England took control of the match with a brilliant batting display led by Joe Root. England finished the day at 544/7, establishing a strong lead of 186 runs over India’s first-innings total of 358.

Joe Root was the standout performer, scoring a brilliant 150 before being stumped off by Jadeja. In doing so, Root achieved several incredible milestones: he became the second-leading run-scorer in Test history, surpassing Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis; completed his 38th Test century (equaling Kumar Sangakkara); and became the first player to score 1,000 Test runs at Old Trafford.

Earlier in the day, England openers Zak Crawley (84) and Ben Duckett (94) gave England an explosive start with a 166-run partnership that put pressure on India’s bowling attack from the very first delivery.

Captain Ben Stokes also added to the momentum with a gritty 66 before retiring hurt due to cramping; however, his partnership with Root further dashed India’s hopes of getting back in the game.

It was a painful day in the field for India, with both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj forced to leave the field with injury. A visibly frustrated Mohammed Siraj even argued with Duckett, which required intervention from the umpire.
