IND vs ENG 2nd Test, Day 2 Highlights: Shubman Gill’s Double Century, England 77/3 At Stumps. India dominated Day 2 of the second Test against England at Edgbaston, as they were led by a sensational double ton from captain Shubman Gill. Resuming on 255, India scored a mammoth 587 in first innings. Gill leading the way yet again with a stunning 269, the highest ever Test performance by an Indian captain in England. Gill struck a combined total of 30 fours and 3 sixes and left India firmly in control of the match.

With Gill doing his thing, he received good support from Yashasvi Jaiswal (87), Ravindra Jadeja (89), and Washington Sundar (42). Gill and Jadeja had a partnership of 203 runs that secured India’s 550-plus lead. England’s bowling attack looked toothless for much of the innings, with Shoaib Bashir being the pick with 3/167.

In response, England was under pressure early in their second innings and finished the day at 77/3, trailing by 510 runs. Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope fell early as the India pace assault of Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and debutant Akash Deep made an early dent. Akash Deep provided England with a huge dent by taking a double-headed wicket in a single over, a duck for Duckett and a duck for Pope, putting the hosts under massive pressure.
