IND vs ENG 1st Test Day 4 Highlights: Pant, Rahul Centuries, India Set England 371-Run Target. India positioned themselves strongly on Day 4 of the first Test match against England at Headingley after centuries by KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. Setting an imposing target of 371 runs, visitors India, at stumps on Day 4, were in a dominant position—England 21/0, need 350 runs to win from 90 overs on the last day.

India resumed their second innings with a narrow lead of 96, standing at 90/2. KL Rahul showed his fine form from the first innings and played an excellent 2nd innings. A composed, technically sound knock of 137. Rishabh Pant made history as he is now the first Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred in both innings of a Test match. He scored an explosive 104 to get India’s lead over 350 runs.

India’s lower order chipped in valuable runs before being bowled out for 364. England’s Shoaib Bashir and Josh Tongue, the best of the bowlers, collected 6 wickets between them. However, they were left with a hard chase in the fourth innings.

In reply, openers Zak Crawley (12*) and Ben Duckett (9*) negotiated a tricky 11 overs at the close of play. England will require 350 runs at the start of day five of IND vs ENG 1st Test, with all 10 wickets remaining, facing the prospect of a deteriorating surface going forward, which is expected to spin and give variable bounce.
