Asia Cup 2025: India Beat UAE by 9 Wickets in Dubai. Defending champions India announced themselves at the Asia Cup 2025 with a convincing nine-wicket win over hosts UAE at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

India won the toss and elected to bowl. Indian bowlers were firmly in control of the UAE batting order for the entire innings. They bowled out the hosts for just 57 runs in 13.1 overs—the lowest T20I total for UAE against India. India’s ten wickets were shared among four bowlers, led by Kuldeep Yadav with 4 wickets at the cost of 7 runs, with one over accounting for three wickets. Shivam Dube supported him, but he was a little cheaper with 3 for 4. Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy had UAE reeling in the powerplay.

India’s Swift Chase

The chase was always looking like only a formality, with India reaching 60/1 in just 4.3 overs. Young opener Abhishek Sharma was explosive with 30 runs from 16 balls, hitting four boundaries. Shubman Gill accounted for a swift 20 runs from 9 balls, which ensured a swift finish. With this victory, India recorded their largest win in terms of balls remaining in T20I international history; the chase ended with a massive 93 balls to spare.

There was also an impressive display of sportsmanship by captain Suryakumar Yadav, who withdrew an appeal that Sanju Samson suggested he make, gaining wide praise for it.

Now India has taken two points and gained a huge net run rate advantage in Group A before they face challenges against Pakistan and Oman. For the UAE, the heavy loss signals the next-to-uselessness of their batting depth as they move into their remaining fixtures. India’s impressive all-round performance suggests their intent to defend their Asia Cup title with a bang.
