IPL 2025: Punjab vs Mumbai Match Relocated to Ahmedabad Amid Security Concerns. Match 61 of the Indian Premier League 2025, between Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians, has been shifted to Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Previously, it was scheduled for May 11 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. Organisers cited severe security issues arising after the Indian military operation against Pakistan– Operation Sindoor.
The Indian Armed Forces had carried out `Operation Sindoor’ on May 7, targeting nine terrorist spots in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This was an answer to the dastardly terrorist attacks at Pahalgam, in which 26 tourists lost their lives. Several airports, including those of Dharamsala, Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, among others, were closed till May 10, disrupting civil air traffic and logistics for IPL teams.
The GCA secretary, Anil Patel confirmed that the match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians has been shifted to Ahmedabad. The BCCI coordinated with the GCA to organize the relocation. It is understood the BCCI ensured there was no disruption to the tournament schedule.
