Gautam Gambhir started his IPL journey with Delhi Daredevils in the year 2008. He was the second highest scorer in the inaugural season of IPL 2008 edition with 534 runs from 14 matches.
Later, he was made the captain of Delhi Daredevils in the 2010 season. The next season, he was picked by KKR for $2.5 Million. He brought glories to KKR in the year 2012 and 2014.
Later, in the year 2018, he was brought again by Delhi Daredevils because he had asked his KKR franchise not to retain him for the season 2018 because he wanted to finish his career with the franchise with whom he started his IPL journey. On 25th April 2018, he stepped down from the captaincy of Delhi Daredevils.
