IND A vs BAN A Rising Stars Cup: India A Loses After Super Over Disaster. India A’s promising journey in the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 ended somewhat disappointingly in Doha as Bangladesh A snatched a thrilling Super Over win to qualify for the final. After both teams scored 194/6 in 20 overs, India A completely collapsed in the Super Over and could not even score a run, handing a straightforward final qualification to Bangladesh A.

Bangladesh A elected to bat first at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, and after some valuable contributions from the middle order, Bangladesh finished very strongly. Habibur Rahman Sohan scored a steadying 52 and looked very composed throughout the middle overs. However, it was the late carnage by SM Meherob, who scored an explosive 48 runs off 18 balls*, that was rampant, including four massive sixes and an array of boundaries in the last overs. In the final two overs, Bangladesh scored almost 50 runs, allowing them to post a respectable target of 194.

India Fights Back

In pursuit of 195, India A started brilliantly through young star Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who struck 38 off 15 balls at a strike rate of over 250. Captain Jitesh Sharma offered some stability with a steady 41, and Sameer Rizvi contributed with an important 36 to keep India in the match. At 132/3 with six overs to go, India was well on track, but Bangladesh A’s accurate bowling started to get them back in the game.

As India needed 12 runs in the last over, they clawed their way back, but a misfield from Bangladesh captain Akbar Ali on the final ball allowed India to sneak in three runs, resulting in a draw and a Super Over.

Super Over Collapse Hands Bangladesh the Final Berth

In the Super Over, India A sent in Suryavanshi and Rizvi to chase against a weary Ripon Mondol, but Mondol, with perfect yorkers, bowled two wickets for no runs. India A was all out for zero runs.

With only 1 run to win, Bangladesh had to face Suyash Sharma, who bowled a leg-side wide on the first ball, confirming Bangladesh A made the final of the Rising Stars Cup.
