WI vs AUS: Mitchell Starc Becomes Second-Fastest Bowler To 400 Test Wickets. Mitchell Starc, Australia’s pace spearhead, reached a historic milestone in the third Test against the West Indies at Sabina Park, Kingston, becoming the second-fastest bowler in the history of the game—by balls bowled—to 400 Test wickets; only South Africa’s Dale Steyn did it quicker concerning deliveries, highlighting Starc’s immense ability as a strike bowler.

Starc achieved the feat in his 100th Test when he removed Mikyle Louis LBW to tick off number 400. And he didn’t stop there, as Starc ripped apart the West Indies and took a five-wicket haul in just 15 balls, which is now a record for the fastest in Test cricket, overtaking the previous best of 19 balls shared by Stuart Broad, Ernie Toshack, and Scott Boland.

Starc’s exceptional figures of 6 for 9 helped Australia skittle the West Indies for 27—the second-lowest total in Test history—and secured a crushing 176-run win. Australia won the test series against the West Indies by 3-0.

Starc Joins Elite Group

Starc became only the fifth Australian to reach 400 Test wickets with this milestone, behind Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Nathan Lyon, and Dennis Lillee.

Not surprisingly, Starc won both Player of the Match and Player of the Series Awards, further stamping him as one of the deadliest fast bowlers of modern cricket. At 35 years old, he is still one of the most feared bowlers in world cricket, and this achievement only adds to his legend.
