Smriti Mandhana Confirms Wedding to Palash Muchhal Called Off. Smriti Mandhana has announced that the wedding with musician Palash Muchhal has been cancelled. The ceremony was planned for November 23rd, 2025, in Sangli. Due to a heart emergency in her father, her wedding was postponed.
In a statement, Mandhana said she is very private, but the ongoing speculation around her life has bothered her too much. “I do want to clarify that the wedding is off,” she stated. She asked fans and media to respect the families involved during this time. “I think we are all driven by a deeper purpose. My purpose has always been to represent my country at the highest level,” she continued, referring to her cricket career.

Also, shortly after this announcement, Palash Muchhal posted on Instagram stating that he has “decided in my personal relationship to move forward and to step back.” Muchhal denounced the internet rumours of breaking their engagement, calling them “defamation”. He also stated that he will be taking legal action against anyone who spreads false information.
What Happened: From Wedding Bells to Silence
A wedding that was planned for November 23 was postponed at the last minute due to Mandhana’s father having a heart attack just before the ceremony. After that, much speculation arose as news broke about Muchhal being admitted to the hospital from stress. When she deleted almost everything from her social media accounts related to the engagement and things leading up to the wedding, it fuelled more speculation.
Neither Mandhana’s father nor Muchhal was ultimately diagnosed with anything more serious than those health incidents. No new date was given for the wedding. With the announcement made today by both Smriti and Muchhal, it seems that the issue is now settled. Fans are not surprised to see that both have unfollowed each other on social media, indicating the end of the relationship.

The Road Ahead for Smriti Mandhana
In her statement, she stated that she is still focused on what she has been doing — playing for India. As the national team prepares for its upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka beginning December 10, there is still hope among fans that this personal setback will not affect Mandhana’s performance on the cricket field.
