Rashid Khan Becomes The Highest Wicket-Taker In Men’s T20Is. Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan has made history by becoming the highest wicket-taker in men’s Twenty20 Internationals. It occurred during Afghanistan’s victory against the United Arab Emirates in the tri-nation series in Sharjah, where Rashid Khan delivered yet another match-winning performance.

Record-Breaking Moment

Rashid Khan took 3 for 21 in his four overs, claiming the timely wickets of Ethan D’Souza, Asif Khan, and Dhruv Parashar in the chase. With those wickets, he surpassed New Zealand’s Tim Southee, taking his T20I wicket tally to 165. The pace of his achievement makes it even more impressive. Rashid Khan reached the milestone in only 98 matches, compared with Southee’s 123 matches.

The Afghan captain has been the format’s most consistent bowler with an astonishing average of under 14 and an economy rate of around 6.1 runs per over. His variations and impeccable accuracy to control matches make him the biggest threat to batters across the globe.

In the same match, Afghanistan’s batting was carried by half-centuries from Ibrahim Zadran (63) and Sediqullah Atal (54), setting a target of 189. Rashid’s spell, with support from Sharafuddin Ashraf, with three wickets, bowled out the UAE for 150, as Afghanistan completed a 38-run win.
