IPL 2026: RCB’s Matches Stays at Chinnaswamy — Karnataka Deputy CM’s Assurance. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans and supporters in Bangalore can now relax. The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has been confirmed by D. K. Shivakumar, Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, as the venue for the team’s home matches in the 2026 edition of IPL.
Shivakumar made his comment on Sunday after participating in the elections to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). It is a bid to allay concerns and fears regarding safety, following the catastrophic crowd crush outside the stadium last June. It resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries. He was addressing the issue that the historic cricket ground might lose its IPL hosting rights.
Statement from the Deputy Chief Minister
RCB stays right here at Chinnaswamy Stadium. “It is the pride of Bengaluru and Karnataka, and we are going to keep it that way.” Moreover, he promised better control for the crowd and safety measures, reassuring the spectators that the cricket matches would be “inside the legal framework.”
Along with confirming the role of Chinnaswamy for men’s IPL, Shivakumar included the possible future women’s cricket matches and other major events to be held at the venue if infrastructure and safety standards are met correctly.
