IPL 2026: MI Refused RCB Request to Use DY Patil as Home Venue. In a major development before IPL 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced a venue setback. RCB wanted to play their home matches at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. However, the Mumbai Indians refused to give them clearance. RCB needed a No Objection Certificate from the Mumbai Indians. DY Patil Stadium falls under Mumbai’s cricketing zone. MI did not approve RCB’s request to use the venue.
Sources say that MI wanted to protect its home territory. They were not comfortable sharing their catchment area. This decision has forced RCB to explore other options. RCB have already been searching for alternative venues. Their traditional home is the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But issues after last season created uncertainty over hosting matches there.
Indore or Raipur to host matches for RCB
With DY Patil out of the race, Indore has emerged as a strong option. The Holkar Stadium is likely to host most RCB home games. Talks with the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association are ongoing. Raipur is also in contention to host matches. Two RCB home games could be played there. The venue under consideration is the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium.
The BCCI and IPL Governing Council are monitoring the situation. They want clarity before releasing the full IPL 2026 schedule. Security, crowd control, and logistics remain key factors in ensuring a successful event. RCB management has not yet made an official announcement. But preparations are moving quickly behind the scenes. Fans are eager to know where their team will play.
