IPL 2026: Bharat Arun Joins LSG As Bowling Coach. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) increased their support staff ahead of IPL 2026, with former India bowler coach Bharat Arun appointed as the new bowling coach of the franchise. He is expected to replace Zaheer Khan. It is widely reported that his contract won’t be renewed after IPL 2025.
Bharat Arun has plenty of experience. He was a key figure in the bowling transformation of the Indian team between 2014 and 2021, alongside head coach Ravi Shastri, during which time India’s pace attack grew into a weapon. More recently, Arun led KKR to success when they were crowned IPL 2024 champions as bowling coach.
In the aftermath of LSG’s failure to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs, the management is looking to change their coaching unit to instill consistency.

By taking Arun on, the team is demonstrating a major rethink in strategy. He has signed a two year contract with LSG. Zaheer Khan, who was a mentor in IPL 2025, is unlikely to return with LSG. The future of head coach Justin Langer is uncertain after the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
His appointment is expected to develop LSG’s domestic pace unit, which suffered from injuries and form over the past two seasons. Arun has a strong history of getting the most out of young Indian bowlers. LSG expects him to get their attack back on track and make a serious push for the IPL 2026 trophy.
