IPL 2025: BCCI and CSA in Talks Over South African Players’ Availability. Cricket South Africa and the BCCI are involved in talks regarding the availability of the South African players for the IPL 2025 beyond May 25. The issue arose because CSA demanded the return of their players on May 26. So that preparations can begin for the World Test Championship final against India, scheduled for June 11 at Lord’s.

This directive includes 20 South African cricketers who are presently participating in the IPL2025, out of which 8 have been named for the WTC final. CSA would like to ensure adequate time for training in English conditions for the players and prepare for the big game.

IPL 2025 will resume on May 17, and the final will be played on June 3. 16 matches shall be crammed into this schedule and comprise the remaining league matches and playoffs.

The early exit of key South African players, which is being contemplated by the franchise, poses some problems. Among others, Gujarat Titans could be deprived of the services of Kagiso Rabada, while Delhi Capitals could be losing Tristan Stubbs. The absence of these players could have huge impacts on team strategies and their hopes for the playoffs.
