IND vs WI 2nd Test Day 4 Highlights: India Need 58 Runs To Win After Campbell And Hope’s Fighting Hundreds. The West Indies began their second innings determinedly. Opener John Campbell put in a solid performance, scoring a brilliant hundred (115). This was his first in India and the first by a West Indian opener in India in 23 years. He frustrated the Indian bowlers with his patience and clean shot-making, earning applause from both sides. He made a crucial partnership with Shai Hope, who also made a century (103).

However, India’s spin pairing of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav then took charge. Jadeja, with an important breakthrough, also went past Harbhajan Singh to become India’s third-most wicket-taker at home in all formats of the game. His performance emphasised how well he has bowled in subcontinental conditions. Jasprit Bumrah also took 3 wickets.

Banter and Drama on Day 4

The day also featured moments of tension and proper cricket banter. Jasprit Bumrah lost his cool with the unsuccessful DRS review against Campbell and muttered to the umpire. Earlier, there was some light-hearted banter back and forth with Mohammed Siraj when he politely warned a West Indies batter “not to score too many runs”, which drew laughter when the batter then hit a boundary.

After imposing the follow-on and chasing a modest target, India reached 63/1 and needs 58 more to end the series after Day 5. KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan batted confidently in diminishing light to ensure no late drama.

As India is on the verge of another home Test victory, attention will now turn to whether the West Indies can extend the inevitable or whether the hosts will seal the series impressively by the middle of the final day.
