IND vs WI 1st Test Day 2 Highlights: India Take 286-Run Lead After Rahul, Jurel And Jadeja Tons. On Day 2 of the first test against the West Indies, Team India showed its dominance with a complete team performance, leading by an impressive 286 runs. The hosts strengthened their hold on the match thanks to excellent centuries from KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja.

India resumed their innings from 121/2 and lost Shubman Gill early, after he made a fluent fifty. KL Rahul went on to score his eighth Test hundred and his first in India for nearly nine years. His calm and composed stroke play was becoming increasingly frustrating for the Caribbean bowlers, who had difficulty taking wickets on a completely flat surface.

Dhruv Jurel’s first Test century further propelled the innings. The young wicketkeeper exhibited remarkable maturity and shot selection, crafting a calm 125 before he fell to Khary Pierre. This partnership with Jadeja propelled India well past 400 runs, leaving the West Indies bowlers desperate for answers.

Jadeja Adds the Final Touch

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja continued India’s charge, scoring his sixth Test ton in the last session of play. Given his unbeaten knock and some lower-order resistance, India ensured their superiority expanded into the day. At stumps, India was 448/5, leading by a daunting 286 runs.

As bowlers, the West Indies have had no relief since being bundled out for 162 in their first innings on Day 1. Their bowling rarely threatened; only Pierre produced sporadic breakthroughs, and now they face the insurmountable challenge of surviving India’s unrelenting spin-pace assault.

With such a massive lead, India is well on top and looking for an innings victory. They will likely want to bat a little longer on Day 3 before unleashing their bowlers, whilst the West Indies must produce a spirited batting display to avert remaining in danger of defeat.
