IND vs ENG: Anshul Kamboj in Contention for Debut in 4th Test Amid Injury Woes. For the 4th Test against England at Old Trafford, Anshul Kamboj has been added to the squad and is strongly in contention for a Test debut. The 24-year-old pacer from Haryana got the opportunity after Arshdeep Singh suffered a deep cut injury to his bowling hand during practice, sidelining him for the next 10 days.

Kamboj has always been among the consistent performers in domestic cricket. He recently made headlines when he took all 10 wickets in a Ranji Trophy innings – a rare and historic achievement. The Haryana seamer also showed his skills for India. Early this year as he grabbed a five-wicket haul against the England Lions. He followed it up with a useful half-century. Thus, demonstrating his all-around capabilities.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are being managed cautiously due to workload. Akash Deep has a minor niggle. So, the inclusion of Kamboj will provide much-needed depth and balance to India’s pace division. Kamboj is a fairly good swinger of the ball and bowls a very disciplined line at around 138–140 km/h, which suits the team’s plans for the English conditions.
