IND vs ENG: Akash Deep, Arshdeep and Nitish Ruled Out Ahead Of 4th Test. India has suffered a cruel blow in the lead-up to the 4th Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, with three players—Akash Deep, Arshdeep Singh, and Nitish Kumar Reddy—all ruled out.

Akash Deep, who impressed during the second Test at Edgbaston, is now officially out of the 4th Test due to a groin niggle. He did not take part in India’s practice session on July 21 and failed to clear the final fitness test. With Akash Deep now ruled out, this further stretches an already thin pace attack due to other injuries.

Similarly, Arshdeep Singh has also been ruled out after sustaining an injury to his bowling hand during a net session. The left-arm seamer received stitches for his injury to his bowling hand. He will not be available for the Manchester Test, dashing his hopes of a long-awaited Test debut.

To make matters worse, Nitish Kumar Reddy has returned home after suffering a knee ligament injury during a gym session. The promising all-rounder was expected to play a key role in the remaining matches with bat and ball.

The absence of three crucial players now subjects the composition of India’s team for the 4th Test of the series to huge changes. Anshul Kamboj has been brought as a cover. Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur are also in the picture to figure in the playing XI. Now down 1-2 in the series, India must pull themselves together before the game at Lord’s, beginning July 23.
