IND vs ENG 1st Test Day 3 Highlights: Bumrah’s Fifer, India 90/2 At Stumps. A magnificent five-wicket haul from Jasprit Bumrah and a decent beginning in their second innings for India saw the visitors in a promising position at the end of Day 3 of the 1st Test against England at Headingley. England were bowled out for 465, just six runs behind India’s first innings score of 471. India finished rain rain-interrupted third day with a score of 90/2 in their second innings, with a lead of 96 runs.
With Day 3 commencing at 290/5, England anticipated a breakthrough from Harry Brook and the lower order. Brook batted vigorously before falling just short of a century at 99. Bumrah took a 14th test five-for, finishing with 5/83. He has equaled Kapil Dev’s record of the most five-wicket hauls outside of Asia (12) by an Indian. Prasidh Krishna only claimed three wickets, but he was expensive in his effort, while Siraj got the others.
After losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early for 4 in their second innings, debutant Sai Sudharsan showed great composure and made 30 before edging one to slips. KL Rahul made a solid comeback with an unbeaten 47. He was batting with Shubman Gill (6 off 8) at the stumps.
