ICC Women’s World Cup 2025: Defending Champions Australia Announces Squad. Australia, the seven-time champions and reigning holders of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, have announced their 15-member squad for the 2025 edition in India. The tournament will run from 30 September to 2 November. The Australians are hoping to continue their dominance on the world stage.

Alyssa Healy has been appointed as the captain, and Tahlia McGrath has been chosen as vice-captain. The squad is well-balanced with a strong mix of experience and youth. Perry, Mooney, Gardner, and Schutt provide a strong degree of experience and stability to the team. Healy and Perry, in particular, will be appearing in their fourth World Cup, lending their leadership to the group.

Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, and Alana King—all potentially proving pivotal in subcontinental conditions. Molineux is sure to add depth to the side upon returning from injury. Wareham and King have proven to be consistent wicket-takers over the years.

The inclusion of some emerging names such as Phoebe Litchfield, Georgia Voll, Grace Harris, and Kim Garth further highlights the selectors’ intention of building a squad for the future. Voll is set to make her World Cup debut. While Litchfield’s recent surge as an opener will provide firepower to Australia’s top order.
