ICC Announces Hosts for Men’s Tournaments from 2026 to 2031. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the host countries for all significant men’s tournaments from 2026 to 2031. The announcement includes historical cricketing nations, such as England, and some emerging cricketing countries as the ICC tries to enhance the global spread of the game.
Global Events Spread Around Continents
The cycle starts with the 2026 T20 World Cup jointly held in India and Sri Lanka. The 2027 World Test Championship (WTC) Final to be in England. England has also been confirmed as a host for the WTC final in 2029 and 2031.
The ODI World Cup will take place later in 2027 across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. These nations will co-host a primary ICC event for the first time. Then in 2028, the T20 World Cup will head Down Under to Australia and New Zealand.
India will host the 2029 Champions Trophy, the long-awaited return of the eight-team tournament. It also announced the 2030 T20 World Cup to be held across the UK and Ireland, although the actual matches will be played in England, Ireland, and Scotland.
Following the success of the 2011 edition of the tournament, the final tournament of this cycle, the 2031 ODI World Cup, will be co-hosted by India and Bangladesh.
