Grace Harris Ruled Out of 2025 Women’s World Cup, Heather Graham Named Replacement. Australia has experienced a setback before the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, with all-rounder Grace Harris ruled out of the tournament due to a calf injury. Harris sustained the injury while fielding during the third ODI against India in Delhi and will return home to commence rehabilitation.

Cricket Australia has confirmed that Heather Graham will replace Harris on the 15-member squad. The Western Australia all-rounder is expected to join the team in India after completing commitments in the Women’s National Cricket League.

Blow to Australia’s Batting Depth

Harris, 32, earned her World Cup selection off the back of strong performances in English domestic competitions. While not a regular starter in Australia’s one-day XI, his power hitting in the lower order and versatility with the ball had the potential to provide depth to the defending champions. This injury signifies a frustrating end to her hopes of making a World Cup match debut.

The timing of the setback is difficult for Australia, who already have several players dealing with fitness issues. Annabel Sutherland (hip soreness), Phoebe Litchfield (quad strain), and Darcie Brown (back spasms) all had some fitness issues in the India series. Harris came into the third ODI as a cover for Sutherland.

Graham, 28, provides a seam-bowling all-rounder’s balance and has represented Australia at the international level across formats. Graham could be considered as not having the explosiveness of Harris’s batting, but she does bring reliability and wicket-taking ability in the middle overs.

Without Harris, Australia’s final squad for the tournament is Alyssa Healy (c), Tahlia McGrath (vc), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Heather Graham, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Voll, and Georgia Wareham.

Australia starts its campaign on October 1 against New Zealand in Indore. Though they are preparing to defend their title with some injury worries, the preparations so far have gone smoothly.
