AUS vs IND 5th T20I Highlights

AUS vs IND 5th T20I Called Off Due To Rain, India Win Series 2-1. The final T20I match between Australia and India at the Gabba ended in disappointment as rain and lightning caused the game to be abandoned. With the series already leaning towards India, the abandonment means India has won the contest 2-1.

Weather spoils the finale

Australia won the toss and chose to bowl. The home side was hoping to level the series, but India’s openers, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill, got off to a flying start, adding 52 runs in 4.5 overs. Abhishek was also in excellent touch, following his positive performance with a convincing knock. However, the match was interrupted soon after by rain, following a warning about lightning. After heavy rain, the outfield was not playable again. After many inspections, the umpires had no choice but to abandon the match.

The series result demonstrates India’s strong resilience following the loss in the second game. India showed its strength in the series, bouncing back in the third and fourth T20Is as comfortable winners. However, the first match in Sydney also had rain interruptions. This result shows India remains strong in the bilateral T20 series and now has great potential for momentum towards the T20 World Cup next year.

On the other hand, Australia will be frustrated with the lack of results, having demonstrated moments of brilliance but being unable to create and seize key moments. The bowling front struggled to contain the explosive Indian openers throughout the series.
