Asia Cup 2025: No Shreyas Iyer As BCCI Announced India Squad. BCCI has announced Team India’s squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE from 9 to 28 September. The squad was announced in Mumbai and serves as a new beginning as Suryakumar Yadav captains the side and Shubman Gill acts as vice-captain.
The 15-member squad is a healthy blend of youth and experience. Besides Surya and Gill, there are Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, and Sanju Samson as batting options. While there are Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube for all-rounders. Jasprit Bumrah leads India in pace, with Arshdeep Singh and young Harshit Rana providing support. For spin, there is Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, and Axar Patel, with all the variation and depth required. Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson will man the wicket-keeping responsibilities.
