IPL 2025 Prize Money And Individual Awards List. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has become the most lucrative and prestigious cricket tournaments in the world since being started in 2008. In the first season, a total of ₹12 crore in prize money was available. Over a few years, there have been many increases in the prize money, which is itself a testament to the exponential growth of the league. By the year 2024, the prize money reached the level of ₹46.5 crore and continued to hold strong through the IPL 2025. That huge increase is also indicative of how it is one league dedicated to rewarding excellence, and it is probably one of the richest sporting events in the world.

For IPL 2025, BCCI maintained the total prize money at ₹46.5 crore from the previous year.

The following cash prizes were awarded for outstanding individual performances in IPL 2025:

  • Orange Cap (Most Runs): ₹15 lakh
  • Purple Cap (Most Wickets): ₹15 lakh
  • Emerging Player Award: ₹20 lakh
  • Most Valuable Player (MVP): ₹12 lakh

New Financial Structures: Salary Cap & Match Fees

A major change in IPL 2025 is the introduction of a match fee. The salary cap has been raised for every franchise to ₹146 crore from ₹110 crore in 2024. The breakup between different heads is as follows:

Auction Purse: ₹120 crore
Incremental Performance Pays: Variable
Match Fees: ₹12.6 crore per team (assuming 14 league matches)

With the IPL’s financial setup in transformation, there are prospects of further changes in the near-coming seasons. The BCCI has thus far announced incremental increases to the salary cap for the following seasons:

2026: ₹151 crore
2027: ₹157 crore
