President Droupadi Murmu Honours Vaibhav Suryavanshi with Bal Puraskar. Droupadi Murmu honoured Vaibhav Suryavanshi at a grand ceremony in New Delhi. The President presented him with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for excellence in sports. The ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

Vaibhav is only 14 years old. He has already created history in Indian domestic cricket. Officials praised his discipline, confidence, and fearless batting style. The award is India’s highest honour for children below eighteen. Vaibhav rose to fame during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025–26 season. He plays domestic cricket for Bihar. He shocked the cricket world with record-breaking performances.

Vaibhav scored 190 runs off just 84 balls in a List A match. He smashed boundaries against experienced bowlers with ease and became the youngest centurion in the men’s list. He achieved the milestone at 14 years and 272 days. His century came in only 36 balls. It is among the fastest hundreds ever recorded in List A cricket. He also recorded the fastest 150 in List A history, off 59 balls.

Vaibhav’s innings helped Bihar post 574 for 6, a world record total. It is the highest score ever in 50-over cricket. The record broke the previous best of 506 runs. Vaibhav made his first-class debut at just 12 years old. He is one of the youngest Ranji Trophy players ever. He later debuted in T20 and List A cricket at 13.
