WTC 2025-2027 Points Table and Standings. The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) was established in 2019 to lend meaning and context to bilateral Test cricket series and to introduce a league format that fosters competitiveness. The WTC consists of the nine Test-playing nations competing over a two-year cycle. Each side plays six series (three home and three away), and the top two teams will qualify for the WTC 2025-2027 Final. The final is at a neutral venue (currently at Lord’s), and the winner receives the ICC Test Mace.
New Zealand won the inaugural WTC in 2021 against India, and Australia won the title in 2023 against India. South Africa won the 2025 WTC, defeating Australia at Lord’s, ending their 27-year quest to acquire an ICC trophy. That win was a watershed for Proteas cricket, and Aiden Markram was Player of the Match.

The WTC 2025-2027 cycle started with the Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh two-match series on June 17, 2025, at Galle. The points system is unchanged. Each win is worth 12 points, each tie earns 6 points, each draw earns 4 points, and any loss nets 0 points. Team ranking is calculated based on the percentage of points acquired in a match, allowing there to be balance amongst teams even with an unequal number of matches played.
