Shubman Gill ICC Men's Player of the month July 2025

Shubman Gill Crowned ICC Men’s Player Of The Month For July 2025. India test skipper Shubman Gill has been voted the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for July 2025 after a stretch of blistering innings in the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy series against England. The 25-year-old has become the first male cricketer in history to win the monthly award four times. He has won it already in January 2023, September 2023, and February 2025.

Gill saved the best of his July runs for a classic performance in the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham. He scored a magnificent 269 in the first innings before scoring a further 161 in the second. Gill’s aggregate of 430 is now the second-highest match total in Test history for a single Test match (only surpassed by Graham Gooch).

In the three tests played in July, Gill made a total of 567 runs at an average of 94.50. He cemented his reputation as one of the leading batters in world cricket.

Gill ended the five-match series with a total of 754 runs at an average of 75.40. He broke Sunil Gavaskar’s record for the most runs for an Indian captain in a five-Test series, and trailed only Don Bradman’s tour aggregate of 810. Further, these milestones secured him the Player of the Series award.

Gill just about beat the England captain Ben Stokes and the South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder for the July honor. Gill has established himself as the bedrock of India’s Test objectives for the next World Test Championship cycle, with a mixture of persistent run-scoring, a record-breaking innings, and confident captaincy.
