Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan Thrash Oman By 93 Runs In Dubai. Pakistan started their Asia Cup 2025 campaign in style, defeating Oman by 93 runs in a one-sided clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 160 for 7 in their 20 overs thanks to explosive knocks from Mohammad Haris, who smashed 66 off 43 balls with seven fours and three sixes. Sahibzada Farhan pitched in with 29, while captain Salman Ali Agha scored 18. Oman’s bowlers fought back well in the middle overs, with Aamir Kaleem picking up 3 for 31 and Shah Faisal claiming 3 for 34, as they restricted Pakistan from passing 170.
Oman under the pressure
In reply, Oman’s fragile batting line-up buckled under consistent pressure from Pakistan’s bowlers. Only a couple of batters made it into double figures as wickets fell consistently, and ultimately Oman were bowled out for 67 in 16.4 overs for a comprehensive loss.
Pakistan’s bowlers each took turns sharing the spoils, as Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Faheem Ashraf each took 2 wickets, and Shaheen Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz each claimed 1 wicket. The mix of pace and spin was too much for Oman to handle.
The turning point of the match was certainly Haris’ counter-attacking inning. It gave Pakistan breathing space after they lost Saim Ayub for a golden duck. The bowlers then ensured that Oman wouldn’t recover from this point.
